Rajasthan Paper Leak: Court Sends 13 Trainee Sub-Inspectors to Jail, 200 More Under SOG Surveillance

In a significant development in the SI recruitment exam scandal of 2021, the Special Operations Group (SOG) presented 14 trainee sub-inspectors (SI) in court on Wednesday, accused of passing the examination through unfair means such as paper leaks and employing dummy candidates. Out of the 14 accused, 13 were sent to jail, while one trainee SI was granted bail due to personal circumstances.

The individuals involved in this malpractice include Naresh Kumar, Surendra Kumar, Rajeshwari Kumari, Manohar Lal, Gopiram Jange, Shravan Kumar, Narangi Kumari, Prem Sukhi, Chanchal Vishnoi, Karanpal, Rajendra Yadav, among others. The SOG is now preparing to take action against other suspected sub-inspectors, with around 200 individuals still under scrutiny for similar irregularities in the recruitment process.

The case took a turn on Tuesday when 14 trainee sub-inspectors were presented in court and were remanded for one day. Before their court appearance, the SOG had conducted an examination to recreate the conditions of the original test, gathering evidence to prove the allegations of paper leaks and the involvement of dummy candidates, which may be presented in court in the future.

In a compassionate turn of events, Chanchal Vishnoi, one of the accused trainee sub-inspectors, was granted bail by the court on Wednesday. The bail was granted on humanitarian grounds after the defense lawyer submitted a plea citing the ill health of Vishnoi’s three-month-old daughter. Vishnoi, who was presented in court along with her daughter, had her child handed over to her grandmother during the court proceedings. Following the bail, the SOG has continued its interrogation of Vishnoi.
