In a notification, the Nainital High Court in Uttarakhand has announced holidays on the 27th and 28th of March.
To compensate for these holidays, the High Court will remain operational on the 24th of August and the 21st of September, both of which fall on Saturdays.
This decision follows a directive from the Chief Justice of the High Court, with the Registrar General issuing the notification on Wednesday.
The decision comes in the wake of the Holi festival, which is celebrated on the 26th of March in the mountainous regions of Uttarakhand.
Observing the difficulties faced by lawyers and others from remote areas in reaching the court post-Holi celebrations, a delegation from the High Court Bar Association had earlier met with the Chief Justice to discuss the matter.
Taking their concerns into consideration, the High Court has decided to adjust the court’s schedule, ensuring access and convenience for all stakeholders involved.
