Judge’s Mobile and Wallet Stolen Inside Court Rest Room, Police Scrutinize Footage

Kannauj: In a shocking incident that raises questions about the security arrangements within court premises, a thief broke into the rest room and stole the mobile phone and wallet of a Senior Division Civil Judge. The case was registered based on a complaint by the senior clerk.

Following the theft, police have been meticulously examining the footage from cameras installed within the court premises. The investigation has led to evidence pointing towards a person who frequently visited the judge. This individual, who often accessed the rest room, is currently the prime suspect in the theft.

The theft occurred on Saturday when Civil Judge Senior Division, Milind Kumar, was hearing cases in his courtroom. Post the hearings, he went to the rest room during lunch break and left his wallet and mobile phone there. Upon returning, he found both items missing.

The stolen wallet contained INR 1,500, ATM cards, a checkbook, and identification documents. Later, it was discovered that the thief had withdrawn INR 5,000 using the judge’s ATM card.

Police Investigation and Public Outcry

The senior clerk filed a report at the Sadar Police Station. The incident has led to significant public and media scrutiny over the court’s security measures. Station in-charge Digvijay Singh assured that the police are on the case and the perpetrator will soon be apprehended.
