* Judges do not do charity when they grant relief and it is the litigant’s right that is recognised by the court, said HC judge Justice Mukta Gupta, who is retiring later this month.
* HC granted bail to ex-Fortis promoter Malvinder Mohan Singh and three others in a case of alleged misappropriation of funds of Religare Finvest Limited lodged by the Delhi Police.
* HC permitted former Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, under arrest in cases related to alleged irregularities in the city government’s excise policy, to meet his ailing wife at his residence on Saturday.
* HC granted protection to a same-sex interfaith couple, apprehending threats from the family members of one of the partners.
* HC sought the stand of the Delhi Police on a petition by student activist Sharjeel Imam seeking quashing of a supplementary charge sheet introducing offences of sedition and hate speech against him in a case concerning his alleged objectionable speech at Jamia Millia Islamia in December 2019.
