[Right to Sleep] Plea in Allahabad HC Seeks Ban on Use of Loudspeakers for Religious Purpose

A plea has been filed in Allahabad High Court seeking ban on sound amplification devices for the call to prayers and religious recitation at mosques, temples and churches in Uttar Pradesh. The petitioner( Ashutosh Kumar Shukla) submits that loudspeakers disturb the sleep of people who live near such places and the same amounts to torture.
