NEET UG Exam Paper Leak Case Reaches Patna High Court, Calls for Cancellation and CBI Investigation

The NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) Undergraduate paper leak issue has reached the Patna High Court, following the filing of a public interest litigation (PIL). The PIL, filed by lawyer Vishal Saurav on behalf of advocate Sujit Kumar Sinha, demands the cancellation of the examination and calls for an investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). It claims that the future of millions of students is at stake due to the leak of the examination paper.

The NEET UG entrance exam, conducted by the National Testing Agency for admission into medical courses, was held across India, including Bihar, on May 5. Subsequently, information regarding a paper leak surfaced, leading to the arrest of 13 individuals by Patna police.

A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered at the Shastrinagar police station confirming the paper leak. The police have taken 13 suspects into custody and have obtained a scanned copy of the leaked paper, which was found sent to a young man’s mobile phone in Danapur. Additionally, police in Purnia and Hajipur apprehended four and one fake candidates respectively, who were attempting to appear in the examination on behalf of others. Bihar police are actively investigating the matter.
