Nainital High Court Seeks State Report on Tender Irregularities at Lalkuan Milk Producers Association

The Nainital High Court has demanded a report from the state government on alleged irregularities in the tender process conducted by the Lalkuan Milk Producers Association. During a session in the division bench, Chief Justice Ritu Bahri and Justice Rakesh Thapliyal directed the government to present the findings of the investigation into the 2023 tender proceedings.

The issue came to light following a petition filed by Dev Bhoomi Traders in the High Court, claiming that the Lalkuan Milk Producers Association had violated the prescribed rules during the tender process. According to the petition, the association failed to adhere to the e-tendering process, and documents from several bidders were submitted through the same bank, account, and even in the same envelope, contrary to regulations.

The court also heard another public interest litigation filed by social activist Bhuvan Pokhriya. Responding to Pokhriya’s petition, the state government has submitted the investigation report conducted by the Kumaon Commissioner to the administration. However, the court has requested that the government also disclose what actions have been taken based on this report.
