Mutation Entry in Revenue Record Does Not Confer Any Right, Title or Interest: Supreme Court

The Supreme Court reiterated that a mutation entry in a revenue record is only for fiscal purposes and does not confer any right, title, or interest in a person.  In this case, the Additional Commissioner, Rewa Division, Rewa, directed that the petitioner’s name be changed in the revenue records based on the WILL he produced.
