Today the Supreme Court refused to entertain fresh wave of petitions which sought to postpone the Nationa Wide Medical Exam of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for admissions to undergraduate medical courses. These Petitions are:
- Kehsav Maheshwari and Others vs National Testing Agency (W.P. C No.988/2020)
- Arijit Sahu and Others vs National Testing Agency (W.P. C No.1020/2020)
- Pragya Pranjal and Others vs National Testing Agency (W.P. C No.1017/2020)
The Bench of Justice Ashok Bhushan, R.Subhash Reddy and Justice M.R. Shah refused to entertain fresh batch of petitions. The Court while dismissing the petition, observed “Now everything is over. Even review petitions have been dismissed”
The Counsel for Students pleaded that 16 lakhs students are writing the exam and In Bihar, there are only two centres- Patna & Gaya. Trains are not running till 30th, therefore, we are only asking for three weeks postponement.
Senior Counsel Senior Adv KTS Tulsi also submitted that Students in containment zones can not come out and COVID-19 cases are increasing everyday.
Earlier also the Court refused to entertain the Review Petition filed by 6 Ministers of 6 States.
