BREAKING: Senior Advocate Pradeep Rai Elected President of Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA)

Senior Advocate Pradeep Rai has been elected President of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) in the 2026 elections, securing 940 votes and defeating his nearest rival, Advocate Anupam Lal Das, by a margin of 360 votes.

Das received 530 votes in the presidential contest. Advocates Adish Agarwala, Gaurav Bhatia, Sukumat Pattajoshi and Dr. KS Chauhan were among the other candidates in the race.

The election also saw Pragya Baghel win the post of SCBA Secretary. She defeated Savita Singh and Ms. Reddy in the contest for the position.

Senior Advocate Rahul Kaushik was elected Vice President of the Association.

Rai Secures 360-Vote Lead

Rai’s tally of 940 votes gave him a substantial lead over Das, who finished with 530 votes. The result secured Rai the presidency of the body representing lawyers practising before the Supreme Court of India.

The 2026 election has also brought a new team to the key office-bearer positions of the Association, with Rai as President, Kaushik as Vice President and Baghel as Secretary.

The SCBA represents the interests and concerns of lawyers practising before the Supreme Court.
