Fraudulent Court Order Leads to Revocation of Bail by Bombay High Court

In a startling revelation, the Bombay High Court has uncovered a fraudulent scheme involving a forged court order used to secure bail for accused individuals in a cheating case. The incident has prompted a thorough investigation and subsequent police complaint lodged by the court.

The fraud was detected when it was discovered that the bail document presented bore the forged signature of a Pune court judge. Originally, the accused had been denied bail by the Pune court, but managed to present a counterfeit court order to the Bombay High Court, falsely claiming it was a legitimate document.

Judge Shivkumar Dige of the Bombay High Court noted the grave discrepancy in the bail process. He highlighted that the bail was granted based on a “handwritten order” purportedly from the Pune court, which later turned out to be “forged and fabricated.” The fraudulent order led to the interim anticipatory bail granted on January 17, 2025, being rescinded.

The case originated from a corporate dispute involving CTR Manufacturing Industries Pvt Ltd, which had lodged a complaint against Esun M R Pvt Ltd for allegedly copying its designs for an airport project tender in 2022. After their initial bail request was denied by a local court, the accused turned to the Bombay High Court with the forged document.

Upon further investigation, Judge Wahida Makandar from the Pune court confirmed that the signature on the bail document was not hers, leading to the exposure of the forgery by CTR’s legal team. The Bombay High Court took swift action by cancelling the accused’s bail and directing the judicial registrar to file a police complaint and further investigate the creation and distribution of the fake court order.
