Supreme Court Slaps Cost of 25K for “Gross Abuse of Law”

On Monday, the Supreme Court while dismissing a Petition filed under Article 32 imposed cost of Rs 25000.

The petition was filed by United Order and Supply Cooperative Society Ltd., invoking the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court under Art.32 of the Indian Constitution qua a tender process where the petitioner has already lost out before the learned Single Judge and the Division Bench.

Further Court found that the Petitioner had participated in the tender process and after loosing before Division Bench has filed the Writ Petition.

The bench of Hon’ble Justices S K Kaul and Hrishikesh Roy observed that the Petition is gross abuse of process of law.
