SC Rejects Plea Seeking Recusal of CJI Chandrachud From Hearing Same Sex Marriage Case

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court dismissed an application made by Anson Thomas to recuse Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud from hearing petitions that seek legal recognition for same-sex marriages. The intervenor argued that the chief justice should recuse himself from the matter, to which CJI Chandrachud responded quickly to reject the application. Solicitor General
