RTI seeks information on Modi’s claim of being arrested during the Bangladesh freedom struggle

An RTI application has been filed seeking details about Indian PM Narendra Modi’s claim of his imprisonment and arrest for supporting Bangladesh’s independence.

The RTI application was filed by Saral Patel, who is the National Convenor (Social Media Department of Indian National Congress. He tweeted that the application was filed with the Public Information Officer of PMO.

Yesterday, while attending the golden jubilee celebration of Independence of Bangladesh, Mr Modi stated that he and his colleagues observed Satyagrah for the people of Bangladesh.

Mr Modi also stated that he was imprisoned for supporting the Independence of Bangladesh.

The RTI seeks information on Modi’s arrest in the alleged incident, the legal provisions he was booked under, and the name of the jail he was kept in.
