President Appoints Justice DK Upadhyaya as Chief Justice of Bombay High Court

Today The Ministry of Law and Justice notified the Appointment of Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya of Allahabad High Court as Chief Justice of Bombay High Court.

The Union Law Minister Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal informed about this development on his official twitter handle.

On 5th July the Supreme Court Collegium recommended the name of Justice Upadhyaya for appointment as Chief Justice of Bombay High Court.

Now the Union Government has accepted this recommendation.

On 19th July the Centre notified the appointment of Chief Justices in four High Courts namely, Kerala, Gujarat, Telangana and Orissa High Court.

About Justice DK Upadhyaya

Born on 16-6-1965, Justice Upadhyaya Graduated in Law from Lucknow University in 1991.

He was Enrolled as an Advocate on May 11, 1991.

Justice Upadhyaya Practised in Civil and Constitutional sides at Allahabad High court, Lucknow Bench, Lucknow.

He was Elevated as Additional Judge of Allahabad High Court on Nov 21, 2011 and took oath as Permanent Judge on Aug 06, 2013.

Currently he was Senior Judge of Allahabad High Court at Lucknow Bench.
