Uttar Pradesh Transport Department is ready to crack down on vehicle owners who have written caste words like Brahman, Khsatriya, Kayastha etc.
Now casteism will not work on vehicles.
Following the directive from the PMO office, the State Transport Department has issued orders to seize the vehicles on which caste is written.
Behind these orders is a letter written by the teacher of Maharashtra Harshal Prabhu, in which he has said that writing caste on vehicles running in UP is a threat to scial fabric.
On the roads of Uttar Pradesh, there are not only bikes, cars, buses, trucks but even tractor and e-rickshaws are written like Brahmin, Kshatriya, Jat, Yadav, Mughal, Qureshi, Pathan, Gujjar.
Mr. Prabhu, a Mumbai-based resident teacher, had complained to PM Modi on IGRS. The PMO sent this complaint to the Uttar Pradesh government, as a result, Additional Transport Commissioner Mukesh Chandra has ordered a campaign against such vehicles.
RTO Vidisha Singh of Rajdhani Lucknow has directed to constitute checking squads in Lucknow, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Sitapur, Hardoi and Lakhimpur to initiate proceedings for sealing invoices or vehicles under Section 177 on any type of vehicles with Caste word written on them.
