In a significant statement on Thursday, the New Delhi Bar Association committed to ensuring a fair and transparent trial for Tahawwur Hussain Rana, the accused in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. The Association emphasized its dedication to maintaining law and order and preventing any disturbances during the judicial proceedings.
Tarun Rana, the secretary of the New Delhi Bar Association, conveyed the organization’s deep understanding of the case’s severity and its implications for national integrity. “Our bar association will ensure there isn’t any disruption of law and order within the complex or disturbance in the judicial proceedings as we are cautious of the seriousness and gravity of the case,” he stated.
The assurance comes amidst heightened public and media attention surrounding the trial, which involves charges against Rana linked to the 2008 attacks that shocked Mumbai and claimed over 160 lives. The Bar Association’s pledge reflects a collective commitment to uphold justice without interference.
“The issue is directly involved with the integrity of our country,” Rana added, highlighting the broader national interest tied to the proceedings. “Hence, as the office bearers of the New Delhi Bar Association, our executive committee is committed to ensure fair and transparent proceedings, abiding by the law of our country.”
