Lucknow Court Denies Bail to Trio in Triple Murder Case Over Property Dispute

In a recent development from Lucknow, a local court has declined the bail application of three individuals implicated in a harrowing triple murder case that shook the city last week. The victims, a woman, her teenage son, and her brother, fell prey to fatal shootings stemming from a familial property feud.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Hrishikesh Pandey passed the order against the bail plea of Siraj Khan alias Lalan Khan, his progeny Faraz Khan, and their driver Ashrafi. The decision came after strong opposition from Assistant Prosecution Officer Rajendra Pandey and the plaintiff’s legal representative, Shailendra Singh Yadav. The law enforcement authorities are still on the hunt for a fourth suspect, Furkan, who remains at large.

The tragic incident, which occurred on February 2nd in the Malihabad area of Lucknow, resulted in the untimely demise of 40-year-old Farheen Khan, her son Hanjala, and Munir Khan alias Taj, Farheen’s brother. According to the police, the murder was an escalation of a longstanding property dispute among relatives.

The episode also left two other individuals wounded. Following a complaint lodged by Farid Ahmed Khan, the police initiated a formal investigation into the matter. The FIR detailed a violent confrontation where the accused, armed and belligerent, targeted the Khan family. Siraj Khan, reportedly a known criminal, wielded a rifle during the attack, which led to the deaths of Farheen, Hanjala, and Munir as they attempted to defuse the situation.

The accused were presented before a remand magistrate on Sunday, subsequent to their arrest, and have since been remanded to judicial custody. Police Commissioner SB Shirodkar provided insights into the case, highlighting the underlying property dispute as the motive behind the killings. He also confirmed the recovery of the firearm used in the crime, emphasizing the close familial ties between the accused and the victims.
