Investigating Officer not required to arrest all accused while filing the charge sheet.: SC

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court ruled that section 170 of CrPC doesn’t impose an obligation on the officer in charge to arrest every accused when filing the charge sheet. It further observed that the practice of some trial courts insisting on the arrest of the accused before taking the charge sheet on record was misplaced
