Bail Granted to Person who Impersonated as Home Minister-Del HC

On Monday, a single judge bench granted Bail to the accused who impersonated himself as
Private Secretary to Union Home Minister and sought for the employment of one of his relatives
by making calls to the office of Minister of State, Labour, and Employment.


An FIR 92/2020 under section 170/419/420 IPC was registered on the complaint of the PA to
the PS of the Hon’ble Union Home Minister of Government of India.

The Accused/Applicant, while impersonating himself as PS to the Hon’ble Union Home Minister,
made a call to the office of the Hon’ble Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Haryana Government,
and then requested him to employ one of his relatives at Maruti Company Limited at Gurgaon.

It is alleged that the petitioner made the said call and sought employment for himself while impersonating himself as PS to the Union Home Minister of Government of India.

The status report indicated that the investigation of the case was complete and the charge-sheet to be filed shortly.

The status reports further stated that the CDR was analyzed. It revealed that the petitioner made the call in question from a mobile which was used by the petitioner.

It was alleged that calls were also made to the Minister of Rajasthan State Government.

Findings of the Court

The Court released the petitioner on Bail and stated that there was no need to put him behind the bars as the investigation has completed.

The Court further found that no material on record would suggest that the petitioner was in a position to tinker with the evidence or to flee from the law. 

Therefore, the Court granted him Bail on furnishing a personal bond of Rs.25000/- with one surety of an equal amount to the satisfaction of the concerned Trial Magistrate/Duty Magistrate.
