[Class 12 Exams Cancellation] Supreme Court Adjourns Hearing to 31 May; Says Decision by Govt in Meantime Probable

In a short hearing, the Supreme Court on Friday heard the plea seeking cancellation of Class 12 Exams of CBSE and ICSE.

A Bench of Justice AM Khanwilkar and Justice Dinesh Maheshwari is hearing this PIL filed by Advocate Mamta Sharma. As the copy of PIL was not served upon the Standing Counsel for CBSE, therefore the court directed the Petitioner Counsel to serve the copy. The Court has observed that it will wait to see if any decision is made in the meantime.

Vide order dated 14th April 2021, the CBSE has cancelled the exam of Class X only and postponed the exams of Class 12. Similarly, CISCE has cancelled the exams of Class X vide circular dated 16 and 19 April and postponed the exams of Class XII till further decision.
