The New Indian Express has reported that on the complaint of the Andhra Pradesh CM Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy against Justice N V Ramana of Supreme Court, CJI SA Bobde has sought response of Justice NV Ramana, next in line of Chief Justice of India, as well as from Justice J K Maheshwari, Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court, now transferred to Sikkim High Court.
As per the report CJI S A Bobde had asked CM Jagan Mohan Reddy to submit the complaint in affidavit. In pursuance to which Mr Reddy submitted the complaint on affidavit.
To remind our readers, earlier Andhra CM Jagan Mohan Reddy made a complaint to the CJI SA Bobde making allegations against Justice N V Ramana for influencing Judges of A P High Court to give verdicts against the government in sensitive matters. In his complaint, Reddy accused Justice Ramana of trying to destabilize his government.
Earlier in September 2020, CJ Maheswari granted a stay on the Inquiry by Special Investigation Team in FIR of Amravati case. A gag order was also passed against the media reports and social media posts relating to the contents of FIR. Recently, the Supreme Court has modified the order and lifted the gag order.
