Cannot issue a mandamus for setting up a Tribunal or an Adjudicatory Body: Supreme Court

In a recent case, the Supreme Court observed that it could not issue a mandamus for setting up an adjudicatory body or tribunal. This observation was made when the Court dismissed a petition filed by John Paily and others. They sought a direction for setting up an independent Tribunal consisting of former High Court judges
