The Allahabad High Court today quashed summons issued by a Magistrate Court against Sanjay Gupta, Editor-in-Chief of the daily newspaper Dainik Jagran, for publishing an allegedly defamatory news item. The Single Judge Bench of Justice Syed Aftab Husain Rizvi stated that in the absence of specific allegations against the Chief Editor, he cannot be summoned.
