The Bar Council of India informed the Supreme Court on Tuesday that the syllabus for the upcoming All India Bar Examination 17 (AIBE17) would be published within 15 days and the examination would be held within three months.

A Bench of Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul, S. Ravindra Bhat, and M.M. Sundresh was hearing the Bar Council of India’s challenge to the Gujarat High Court’s decision, which allowed people with other jobs, whether full-time or part-time, to enrol as Advocates without resigning.

In the aforementioned proceedings, the Court has issued orders on a regular basis to improve the quality of legal education in India, to address the shortcomings of the Bar Examination, and to investigate the idea of chamber placement for young lawyers.
