Bilaspur, 6 August 2026: In a significant initiative towards strengthening and augmenting judicial infrastructure in the State, the Newly Constructed Additional Court Building at Civil Court Premises, Pendra Road, District–Bilaspur (C.G.), was virtually inaugurated on Thursday, 6 August 2026 by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Hon’ble the Chief Justice emphasized that adequate and modern judicial infrastructure is fundamental to the effective administration of justice. His Lordship observed that well-equipped and accessible court buildings provide a conducive working environment for Judicial Officers, Advocates, Court Staff and litigants, thereby contributing to the efficient functioning of the justice delivery system. His Lordship further underscored that continuous development of judicial infrastructure at the District and Sub-Divisional levels is essential for bringing justice closer to the people and ensuring timely, accessible and effective delivery of justice.
Hon’ble the Chief Justice further observed that the creation of additional court infrastructure reflects the commitment of the Judiciary towards meeting the growing requirements of the justice delivery system. Such initiatives not only facilitate better court administration and improved working conditions but also strengthen public confidence in the judicial institution. His Lordship reiterated the commitment of the High Court of Chhattisgarh towards the progressive modernization and development of judicial infrastructure throughout the State.
The event was held in the august virtual presence of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ravindra Kumar Agrawal, Judge, High Court of Chhattisgarh and Portfolio Judge, District–Bilaspur (C.G.).
Also present on the occasion were the Registrar General and Officers of the Registry, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Bilaspur, Judicial Officers, Members and Office-bearers of the Bar Association, Court personnel and other dignitaries.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Shri Sirajuddin Qureshi, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Bilaspur, who welcomed the Hon’ble Judges and other dignitaries. Following the virtual inauguration, a video showcasing the Newly Constructed Additional Court Building at Civil Court Premises, Pendra Road was presented.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Shri Arvind Kumar, I District & Additional Sessions Judge, Pendra Road, who expressed gratitude to the Hon’ble Judges, officers and all stakeholders for their valuable guidance, support and coordination in the successful conduct of the programme.
The inauguration of the newly constructed Additional Court Building at Pendra Road marks another important step in the High Court of Chhattisgarh’s continuing endeavour to strengthen judicial infrastructure and enhance the efficiency, accessibility and effectiveness of the justice delivery system across the State.
