Chhattisgarh Sets Record in Third National Lok Adalat: 47 Lakh Cases Resolved, Awards Cross ₹739 Crore

Bilaspur Dated -13/09/2025: The third National Lok Adalat of the year was held today across the State of Chhattisgarh. Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice of the High Court of Chhattisgarh and Patron-in-Chief, Chhattisgarh State Legal Services Authority, personally inspected the proceedings at the District and Sessions Court in Bilaspur.

Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh also conducted a virtual inspection of the National Lok Adalat proceedings at all other District and Sessions Courts. He engaged in direct dialogue with the Principal District Judges from all districts, reviewed the progress of the event, and encouraged them to resolve as many cases as possible, providing valuable guidance and motivation.

At the High Court of Chhattisgarh, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh reviewed the proceedings of the two benches constituted for the National Lok Adalat, engaging in discussions with the Presiding Judges – Hon’ble Mrs. Justice Rajani Dubey and Hon’ble Mr. Justice Deepak Kumar Tiwari.

This proactive initiative by the Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh serves to encourage presiding officers, members, and litigants, and builds greater trust among the public, enhancing the credibility and authenticity of the Lok Adalat process.

According to data received, the National Lok Adalat recorded unprecedented success by resolving a total of 47,02,809 cases (Including criminal compoundable cases, civil cases, revenue cases, pre-litigation cases and traffic challan cases) and passing awards amounting to Rs. 7,39,59,89,821/-. To ensure maximum accessibility, the Lok Adalat Benches leveraged technology to connect with litigants who were unable to be physically present, using virtual means and even mobile vans to facilitate the resolution of cases.

Since assuming Office, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh has consistently guided and supervised the preparation for National Lok Adalats through regular meetings with all Principal District Judges. His dedicated efforts have made the vision of swift, accessible, and affordable justice a reality in the State of Chhattisgarh, ensuring that people receive prompt justice through the Lok Adalat mechanism.
