In a significant development in the legal community, Senior Advocate N Hariharan has been elected as the President of the Delhi High Court Bar Association (DHCBA). The election, which took place on March 21, saw Hariharan secure a convincing victory with 2,967 votes, outpacing his closest competitor, Senior Advocate Kirti Uppal, who received 2,880 votes.
The election was marked by robust participation and a competitive spirit among the candidates. Other notable candidates in the presidential race were Senior Advocates Abhijat and Vivek Sood, who garnered 1,429 and 339 votes respectively, illustrating the diverse preferences among the voting members of the DHCBA.
In other key positions, Senior Advocate Sacchin Puri won the Vice Presidency with an impressive tally of 4,515 votes, significantly ahead of his competitors, Advocates Inderbir Singh Alagh and Shyam Sharma, who received 1,080 and 1,895 votes respectively. This victory marks a pivotal moment in Puri’s career within the DHCBA.
The role of Secretary was keenly contested and ultimately won by Advocate Vikram Singh Panwar, who secured 4,389 votes. Advocate Kanika Singh emerged as the new Treasurer of the DHCBA, obtaining 4,493 votes in a strong endorsement from her peers. Furthermore, the position of Joint Secretary went to Advocate Kunal Malhotra, who received 3,381 votes.
