The Maharashtra Cyber Cell has lodged a case against the YouTube show India’s Got Latent, implicating around 30 to 40 individuals involved in the program. This action includes participants from the first to the sixth episode of the show, with authorities beginning the process of issuing notices to all concerned individuals. Each person is expected to record their statements as part of the ongoing investigation.
The controversy erupted following remarks made by popular YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia during an episode of the show, which have been widely condemned as offensive and inappropriate. The incident has drawn strong reactions from the public, leading the National Commission for Women (NCW) to intervene. The NCW has summoned Allahbadia, show host Samay Raina, and others associated with the show to appear before the commission on February 17, 2025.
In response to the backlash, Allahbadia issued a public apology, admitting that his remarks were in poor taste and inappropriate. He confirmed that the controversial portions had been removed from the show. Despite this, the legal process continues, with authorities taking strict action against the content creators.
