MCD Employee Faces Hefty Fine for False Litigation Against Own Department

In a cautionary tale of fraudulent litigation, a Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) employee faced severe repercussions as the Labour Court slapped him with a fine of INR 45,000. The ruling came after his claims were deemed fictitious by the court, highlighting the serious consequences of abusing legal processes.

The controversy began when the MCD worker filed multiple lawsuits against the corporation over unpaid dues across several years. However, upon scrutiny, these claims were proven to be baseless, prompting MCD officials to present evidence to the Labour Court. The detailed examination by the court upheld the corporation’s evidence and subsequently, the employee was penalized with the hefty fine.

Following the court’s decision, MCD officials have been on alert and have enhanced their monitoring systems to prevent such incidents.
