In a significant development, Adnan Khan, accused of threatening a judge via social media in the Gyanvapi Mosque case, has been remanded to seven days of police custody. The order was issued by ATS Special Judge Vivekananda Sharan Tripathi, allowing the Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) to interrogate Khan from the morning of June 14th to the evening of June 20th.
Prior to this, ATS Inspector Vikram Singh had submitted a plea in court for Khan’s custody. The investigation revealed threatening and malicious posts sent from Khan’s Instagram account aimed at Judge Ravi Kumar Diwakar, who is presiding over the Gyanvapi Mosque case in Varanasi, among others.
Following the discovery, ATS apprehended Khan, a resident of Bhopal. His mobile phone contained videos in Arabic and English that raised suspicions due to Khan’s attire and actions depicted in the footage.

The plea further detailed that the remand period would be utilized to extract data from Khan’s mobile phone, laptop, bank accounts, and social media accounts. Authorities are also planning to use this time to identify and investigate Khan’s associates and potentially transport him to Bhopal for further inquiry.
