In a significant order, the Calcutta High Court has allowed candidates involved in the SSC recruitment corruption case to view their answer sheets (OMR sheets). The decision was made by a special bench comprising Justice Devangshu Basak and Justice Mohammad Shabbar Rashidi during a hearing on Monday.
The court stated that any SSC candidate (for grades 9th-10th, 11th-12th, Group C, Group D) could request to see their OMR sheet, but they must apply to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to do so. Candidates have until Tuesday evening, 4 PM, to submit their applications to the central investigative agency.
This ruling comes in light of the OMR sheets for the SSC cases, which were recovered by the CBI from Ghaziabad and subsequently submitted to the High Court. For the first time, the High Court has permitted candidates to examine these answer sheets.

During the hearing, the bench also mentioned that candidates could view documents related to the SSC case filed by the CBI and the SSC in court, but they would need to apply to the High Court’s Registrar General for access.
Furthermore, the court added that any individual not directly involved in the case but wishing to provide information related to it could do so, and the High Court would consider all such information. The next hearing for this case is scheduled for February 19.
