Parent’s Mistake Cannot Put the Child at a Disadvantage: Karnataka HC Directs Correction of Birth Certificate

In a groundbreaking verdict, the Karnataka High Court has ruled in favor of Fathima Richelle Mather, a 23-year-old Indian citizen pursuing her Master’s in Management Program in Madrid, Spain.  Justice Suraj Govindaraj ordered the inclusion of her name in her birth certificate, emphasizing that “a mistake by parents cannot put the child at a disadvantage.”
