The Hon’ble Supreme Court has just issued a new circular.
The details mentioned in the circular are as follows:-
A reference was made to SOP dated 04.07.2020 wherein the instructions for joining teleconferencing /video conferencing for the hearing of listed matters were mentioned.
In that circular, it was stated that two appearance links and one viewing link would be provided to each party and sharing of the screen was strictly prohibited unless permitted by the Court.
However, the new circular states that the Court has observed that Advocates-On-Records are sharing the links with more than two advocates to appear before the Court.
It was further observed that Counsels are addressing the Court in matters that are not listed on that day.
As per the circular, sharing of screen or sharing of video conferencing links is a violation of Standard Operating Procedure and creates a hindrance in the proceedings of the Court.
The AORs, parties-in-person and other stakeholders are also warned that if there will be unauthorised sharing of the screen or video links, then the people who have violated the SOP will not be allowed to address the Court.
The circular also states that if any AOR, party in person or other individuals are found violating the guidelines and SOP, the Court might take adverse action against them.
