Supreme Court Stays Allahabad HC Order Convicting Mukhtar Ansari For Threatening Jailer

The Supreme Court has stayed the Allahabad High Court’s order convicting Mukhtar Ansari, and sentencing him to seven years in prison for intimidating and threatening an on-duty jailer to kill in 2003.  After hearing Ansari’s petition, a bench of Justices BR Gavai and Vikram Nath passed the Order.
