Students who need to travel abroad should be vaccinated on a priority basis

While hearing suo-moto proceedings initiated to control the Covid situation, the Madras HC observed that

“Students who wish to study abroad and for residents abroad who had come on short visits, or others who need to undertake international travel, both the State and the Centre should consider vaccinating such persons on a priority basis and some norms in such regard should be put in place”

The Court directed both state and central govt. to seriously look into the matter as most of the countries have lifted the travel ban.

The court also suggested adding Passport Numbers on the Vaccination Certificate to make it convenient for the citizens traveling abroad.

Apart from it the court also remarked that the Covid situation in the state now seems to be under control due to the joint efforts of the State and Central Government.

The court had initiated the suo-moto proceedings couple of months back to monitor the Covid situation in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.
