Six Surrendered Naxals Produced Before NIA Special Court in Karnataka

On Thursday, six naxals who recently surrendered were presented before the National Investigation Agency (NIA) special court in Karnataka, following their public surrender in the presence of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on December 8. Prior to their court appearance, they underwent medical examinations at Victoria Hospital in the city.

The group was escorted to the NIA court by Chikkamagaluru police. The three women among them were accommodated at the Mahila Santwana Kendra near Dairy Circle, while the three men were held at the FSL special cell in Madiwala.

The individuals, identified as Mundagaru Latha and Vanajakshi from Chikkamagaluru, Sundari from Kotlur in Dakshina Kannada, Jisha from Kerala, Vasanth K from Tamil Nadu, and Marappa Aroli from Raichur, surrendered their uniforms and a formal letter to the Chief Minister, marking a significant move from insurgency to potential reintegration into society.
