As internet connections were suspended in several parts of New Delhi due farmer’s tractor rally, the Supreme Court Advocates on Record Association has written a letter to Hon’ble Supreme Court requesting the Judges not to take any adverse action against lawyers/litigants, for non-appearance.
The letter dates 27.01.2021 states that due to security concerns amid farmer’s tractor rally, internet connections were suspended in many parts of Delhi, due to which many lawyers/parties might not be able to login/attend virtual courts; therefore the Judges are requested not to pass any orders until the situation stabilizes and internet services are restored.
After the tractor rally turned violent, the Ministry of Home Affairs ordered the internet suspension in Delhi from 12 PM on Tuesday till midnight. The order states that they took this step for averting public emergency and for maintaining public safety.
