The Supreme Court has called upon the Registrar General of Allahabad High Court to inform the reasons for inordinate delay in uploading the Judgment on the official Website of the High Court.
A Bench of Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice Hrishikesh Roy, was hearing an SLP.
The Counsel informed the court that the Judgment impugned in the SLP is dated 06.11.2019, but the same was uploaded on the website of the Allahabad High Court in the month of May 2020.
Why there was a Delay? Asks Supreme Court
Supreme Court has directed the Registrar General of Allahabad HC to inform the Court about such inordinate delay in uploading the judgment on the website.
The Registrar General has to submit his report within 3 weeks.
Recently, in another case, the Supreme Court ”reminded’ the High Courts that delay in delivery of judgments is a violation of protection guaranteed under Article 21 of the Constitution of India.
In that case, the operative portion of the Judgment was pronounced on 21.01.2020 but the reasons were uploaded after 9 months ie.on 09.10.2020
