Babri Masjid Demolition: SC Grants 1 month more time to conclude Trial

Babri Masjid- The Supreme Court has given a new deadline of 30th September for a Special CBI court to deliver its Judgment in the demolition of Babri Masjid case.

In this Trial Senior BJP leaders such as L.K. Advani, Uma Bharti and M.M. Joshi are facing criminal charges.

A bench of Supreme Court headed by Justice R.F Nariman extended the eralier deadline upon an application of the special judge, who along with application submitted a progress report of the trial and prayed for grant of extension of time to conclude the trial.

The Court observed that considering the report of Mr. S.K. Yadav, Special Judge, the looking onto the stage of proceedings, one month time i.e. till 30.09.2020, is granted to conclude the proceedings including the delivery of Judgment.
Earlier in May, the Court had granted time till 31.08.2020, on the request of the Special Judge.
