New Delhi: YouTuber and entrepreneur Ranveer Allahabadia has approached the Supreme Court seeking the consolidation of multiple FIRs lodged against him across various states over his controversial remarks. The petitions argue that the cases stem from the same incident and should be clubbed together to prevent multiplicity of proceedings.
A bench headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sanjiv Khanna told Allahabadia’s counsel, Abhinav Chandrachud, that the matter would be listed for hearing. “We have given a date” CJI Khanna told the senior advocate during a brief mentioning in court.
The FIRs against Allahabadia, a popular digital creator known for his podcasts and motivational content, have been registered by police in multiple states following public outrage over his recent statements in India’s Got Latent Show of Stand up Comedian Samay Raina. His legal team contends that facing proceedings in different jurisdictions for the same alleged offense is a violation of his fundamental rights.

In recent years, the Supreme Court has granted similar reliefs to public figures facing multiple FIRs over identical allegations, often to ensure fair and effective judicial proceedings.
With the case now set for hearing, Allahabadia’s legal battle will be closely watched, given the growing scrutiny of online speech and the legal challenges faced by content creators in India.
