In a shocking turn of events, Telugu cinema star Allu Arjun was arrested by Hyderabad police due to his alleged involvement in a tragic stampede at the premiere of his latest film, “Pushpa 2”. The incident, which occurred on December 4 at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad, resulted in the death of a 39-year-old woman and left her son in critical condition.
The police action extends beyond the actor to include the management of Sandhya Theatre and his security detail. Authorities reported that they were not informed in advance of the film crew’s attendance, which is believed to have contributed to the overcrowded conditions.
Allu Arjun was detained on Friday by officers from the Chikkadpally police station, where the incident is being thoroughly investigated. A case has been registered under BNS section 105, related to culpable homicide not amounting to murder, and section 118(1) r/w 3(5), concerning voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt.
Deputy Commissioner of Police of the Central Zone, Akshansh Yadav, stated: “Based on the complaint from the family members of the deceased, stringent action will be taken according to the law against all individuals responsible for the chaos inside the theatre which led to these tragic outcomes.”
