Recently, The Supreme Court stated that once title of property has been upheld in the name of plaintiff in an earlier suit, onus to prove acquisition by adverse possession lay on the defendant. The bench of Justices Rajesh Bindal and Aravind Kumar was dealing with the appeal challenging the judgment passed by the High Court.
