The Karnataka High Court is set to deliver verdicts today in two separate but significant cases involving current Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa.
In the first case, the court will decide on a petition filed by RTI activist Snehamayi Krishna, which calls for the transfer of a controversial site allotment case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The case pertains to allegations against CM Siddaramaiah concerning the allotment of 14 plots to his wife Parvathi B.M. by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA). The petition alleges severe irregularities and seeks a thorough investigation by the CBI to ensure transparency and justice.
The second case involves veteran BJP leader B.S. Yediyurappa, who is seeking to quash a criminal case against him that includes charges under the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The charges were levied following a complaint by the mother of a 17-year-old girl, who accused Yediyurappa of sexual assault during a meeting at his residence in Dollars Colony on February 2, last year.
