A bench headed by Chief Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra of Jharkhand High Court on Monday heard the murder of minor Ankita in the heart-wrenching petrol incident on August 23, 2022 in Dumka. Advocate Ramit Satyendra has been appointed amicus curiae in the matter.
During the hearing, the state government filed an affidavit and said that the charge sheet has been filed against the two accused in the case, the trial is going on. It was also told that the state government has given Rs 10 lakh to the victim’s family. Central Government and AIIMS, Deoghar’s advocate Prashant Pallav told the court that the local MP has also deposited a fund of 28 lakhs for the victim’s family at his level.
The court has fixed the matter for hearing on June 19. Along with this, the central government has been asked to file a status report and tell by when the burn ward will be established in Deoghar, AIIMS. Advocate Prashant Pallav appeared on behalf of the Central Government and AIIMS, Deoghar. After this incident that took place in Dumka on August 23, 2022, on August 30, 2022, the High Court took suo motu cognizance of the matter.
