On Tuesday, the Delhi High Court clarified that it had issued no notice stating that Courts will now be conducted exclusively through virtual mode till 17th April due to a surge in Covid-19 cases.
The clarification was made as social media reports, and various reports claimed that the High Court would hear cases only through the virtual model. Patna High Court had initially issued the said notice.
The confusion was cleared when Delhi High Court’s Registrar General Manoj Kumar Jain stated that Delhi HC had made no such claim.
Delhi High Court had started physical hearings on 15.03.2021, but the Administrative Committee later permitted a hybrid hearing.
Vide order 12.03.2021 Delhi High Court asked the administration to keep a close tab on the situation and tackle the situation when the physical hearing resumed from 15th March.
As per the same order, virtual hearings will be the exception and not the term.
