Delhi High Court Round-Up for Wednesday

Important cases heard in the Delhi High Court on Wednesday, September 20:

*HC restrained websites and other platforms from misusing the name, image, voice and other attributes of persona, including the “jhakaas” catchphrase, of actor Anil Kapoor for commercial gain.

*HC stressed on the need for greater green cover in the national capital and asked the authorities to find land to create another forest area besides the ridge.

*The fledgling Akasa Air told HC that it is in a “state of crisis” following the “sudden” and “abrupt” resignations of over 40 pilots who left the airline without serving the mandatory notice period.

*HC directed three individuals to purchase and distribute among Delhi police personnel of six police stations socks worth Rs 48,000 that go with their uniform while agreeing to quash an FIR involving them.

*National Testing Agency told HC it can conduct Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), which is presently held by the Consortium of National Law Universities in English, in regional languages such Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada etc.

*HC dismissed a public interest litigation against the age relaxation of three years granted to students contesting the upcoming Delhi University Students’ Union elections.
