Delhi HC issues notice in a plea seeking Talaq-ul-Sunnat be declared unconstitutional

The High Court of Delhi has sought the Centre’s response in review plea seeking to declare assumed absolute discretion of a Muslim husband when giving divorce (talaq-ul-Sunnat) to wife without giving any advance notice as unconstitutional, anti-Shariat, and arbitrary. A Bench of Justices Vipin Sanghi and Jasmeet Singh gave the Centre eight weeks to respond
