Delhi HC Gets Two New Additional Judges

Two additional judges of the Delhi High Court on Friday took oath of office, taking the strength of judges in the court to 44.

Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma administered the oath to Justices Shalinder Kaur and Ravinder Dudeja.

The swearing-in ceremony took place in the court of the Chief Justice in the presence of other high court judges, lawyers and family members of the newly sworn-in judges.

The Central government had appointed Justices Kaur and Dudeja, both judicial officers, as additional judges of the high court on October 18.

Earlier this month, the Supreme Court collegium headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud recommended their names for appointment as judges of the high court.

The new appointments take the number of judges in the high court to 44, including eight women judges. The sanctioned strength of the high court is 60.
