Consider Enacting a Law on Bail to Expedite the Release of Accused Persons- SC Directs Centre

The Supreme Court directed the Centre on Monday to consider drafting a new bail law to expedite the release of accused in criminal cases. A bench of Justices S K Kaul and M M Sundresh issued a slew of directives, saying investigating agencies and their officers must follow Section 41-A of the Criminal Procedure Code
